WWT Asynchrony Labs, an information technology consulting firm located in St. Louis, is hosting a new event on May 30, 2018 titled, “Dynamic Reteaming at Fast-Growing Companies.”
The featured speaker will be Heidi Helfand, Director of engineering excellence at Procore Technologies, the creators of cloud-based construction software. The presentation, which will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, is free and open to the general public.
During this discussion, Helfand will talk about how to more effectively manage teams at fast-growing companies. As companies grow, so do the number of people and teams, and managing this growth is crucial to future success. Given that, this discussion will explore how you go about managing this growth and change. How can people be empowered to own their team changes? How does an organization integrate new people into teams and the company without losing a sense of culture?
This talk will be a lively, interactive forum, as attendees will hear three-detailed success stories about companies that successfully managed growing teams. It will also include an open question and answer period.
Specifically, attendees will learn:
- Patterns of team change including: one by one, grow/split/load balancing across teams.
- Techniques for enabling people to choose their own teams.
- Techniques designed to bring openness to large-scale reteaming events.
- How to provide support and coaching for people going through team change.
- Practical tips to help teams gel and get up to speed after they change.
Helfand is also the author of “Dynamic Reteaming: The Art and Wisdom of Changing Teams.” This book challenges the notion that you need to keep your teams the same in order to be successful.
She was on the “first team” at two highly successful start-ups, including Expertcity, Inc. (acquired by Citrix), where she was on the team that invented GoToMyPC, GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar. She was also a team member at AppFolio, Inc., a SaaS property management software company that went public in 2015. She is a co-active coach certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
The event will be held in the Barcelona Room at World Wide Technology at 701 Fee Fee Road, Maryland Heights, Missouri. Although it is free and open to the public, seating is limited and pre-registration is suggested. To register, visit here. Refreshments and snacks will also be provided and available during on-site registration from 6-6:30.
